At Elite GYN Care of the Palm Beaches, Dr. Whelihan provides a comprehensive array of services, including well-woman visits, Pap smears and HPV testing, hormone therapy, teen gynecology services, menopause treatments, and treatments for vaginal dryness and pelvic prolapse, as well as complete sex education services and treatments for low libido. Dr. Whelihan also specializes in transitioning hormones for transgender male and female patients.
Dr. Whelihan received her Doctor of Medicine graduating Alpha Omega Alpha from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. She completed her Residency training at University of Florida Shands Jacksonville. She has received "Top Doctors in America" and "America's Top Obstetrician and Gynecologists." Dr. Whelihan was the recipient of the "Women in Leadership Award" from the Executive Women of the Palm Beaches and "Woman of the Year" from Palm Beach Illustrated and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. She remains committed to the legislative side of medicine acting as the President of the Palm Beach County Medical Society and the Florida OBGYN Society from 2009-2010. She continues in a leadership role in the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists for District XII, Florida. She has practiced medicine in the Palm Beach area since 1997.

I am proud to state that I became a patient of Dr Whelihan 10 years ago. She saw me regularity for nearly three year and now again I have the pleasure of her expertise. Last week, I had a consultation and we discussed my medical history and desires going forward. She listens, makes suggestions and is a resource for transgender care. She mentioned that about 10 years ago her practice would see seven transgender individuals a week, now she typically sees seven a day.
Since my visit, I have had specific blood work done, and a much needed mammogram. My last mammogram was over 8 years ago; too long. My family history certainty warrants one more often.
I highly recommend Maureen and suggest if you are unable to visit her office you look into virtual consultations. The practice accepted my insurance, and her medical staff worked with me on the confidential nature of my records. I am very pleased to be back under her expert care.
