And, Why is being transgender an intrinsic identity and not a Political Ideology...
First the Political Ideology
Google AI: The term "transgender ideology" is a highly contentious political term primarily used by opponents of transgender rights to describe and critique the concepts surrounding gender identity.
Viewpoints as politically stated:
- Definition: Critics use the term to refer to the collection of ideas that posit gender identity (an internal sense of gender) as distinct from biological sex. They argue this challenges sex-based rights and promotes the idea that a person can be born into a "wrong" body.
- Core Beliefs: This perspective suggests that individuals' self-professed gender identity is their "sex," which critics view as being disconnected from biological reality.
- Concerns: Concerns often center on the potential impact on women's spaces (such as prisons and refuges), sports, and the medical and the social transition of children.
- Advocacy: Proponents of this view often advocate for policies and laws based on biological sex rather than gender identity. _____________________
Viewpoint as an intrinsic identity - Why the Political Ideology is Incorrect according to GLADD and other anti-hate groups.
- Scientific and Biological Objections: Critics argue that "transgender ideology" denies basic biological facts, such as the sexual binary that humans are either male or female based on reproductive cells (gametes). They assert that sex is an immutable, objective bodily reality, and the idea of a "spectrum of sexes" is unscientific. The binary concept is scientifically incorrect and denies the human genome of chromosomes varying from XX and XY.
- Medical and Ethical Concerns: Opponents often categorize gender-affirming care, such as puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and surgeries, as medical malpractice or bodily mutilation. They point to studies and reports, like the Cass Review in the UK, that indicate limited evidence for the benefits of certain medical interventions for minors and cite potential risks and irreversible impacts on fertility, bone density, and neurocognitive development.
- Fairness and Safety in Society: A common argument is that including transgender women (biological males) in women's sports and single-sex spaces (like changing rooms and bathrooms) compromises the fairness of competition and the safety and privacy of biological women. Critics highlight the inherent physiological advantages that result from male puberty. Medically - biological basis of sex differences in athletic performance in males is negated by gender affirming hormones therapy.
- Religious and Philosophical Arguments: Many objectors come from a religious perspective, primarily Christian or Catholic, viewing the body and biological sex as a God-given design that should not be altered. Philosophically, some argue that "gender ideology" promotes a mind-body dualism, suggesting that one's internal feelings can contradict physical reality, which they consider a deeply flawed premise. Do take in account that this is only a belief structure, not scientific, medical or legal. i.e. Do religion still adhere to this concept that according to Leviticus 20:9, the Biblical Mosaic Law states parents should have their rebellious children stoned?
- Social and Political Concerns: Critics claim that the movement aims to shut down debate and coerce society into accepting subjective reality claims. They express concern that discussions of gender identity in schools are harmful to children and undermine traditional family structures and values. This dehumanize transgender people and shuts down critical thinking needed for couturial and social growth.
Every man has a god given right to choose how he wants to live. So what if we're just men who choose to live and dress as women and expect to be treated accordingly. Could you live with that? Randi
ReplyDeleteIt’s exhausting how political all of this is becoming. I won't speak for everyone, of course, but for me, this isn’t about ideology. It’s about finally understanding myself, learning how to live authentically, and figuring out how to exist without shame. I don't ask people to agree with every part of the journey. I just want to exist without being reduced to a debate topic.
