After 6 days in the hospital for something that could have been treated in less than an hour, I am home and better.
The good news: America has maybe the best medical technology and hospitals, anywhere. People overall live longer, and are well taken care of.
The bad news: It is expensive and treatment occurs only after much CYA. The system is designed to maximize insurance billings. For those without insurance there is no safety net; go broke of die.
From what I saw, the professionals are amazing. The system broken.
Just wanted to give an update. Thank all of you for your concern.

Glad to see you’re back! Cable TV breakfast in bed. Waited on hand and foot. Is the hospital that bad??

ReplyDeleteGlad to hear that you're doing well !!! <3 <3 <3 !
ReplyDeleteBut, you're incorrect on one point - the system IS designed to maximize payments from insurance, but even more designed to protect itself against malicious and frivolous lawsuits . No other country has the highly lucrative ( for lawyers ) " Personal Injury/Malpractice" lawsuit industry that the US does .
Glad to hear you are doing better. May you continue on the path to a full recovery quickly.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back. I cannot fathom 6 days is hospital. Best wishes going forward
