My Note: I especially like number three. Keep doing this. Keep doing it until it's natural.

- Identify a list of things that make you feel comfortable in your gender presentation. [Feminine Differential] These can be anything. Clothes, hair, makeup, how you walk or sit, your tone of voice, the way you smile. Anything, so long as it makes you glow with feminine masculinity.
- Do at least one of these things every day. If it's embarrassing, do it anyway. If people look at you funny, do it anyway. If somebody calls you a fag on the street, do it anyway. Do one thing each day to make your gender more comfortable for you, and don't let anything stop you.
- Keep doing this. Keep doing it until it's natural. Keep doing it until you're doing a thousand comfortable gender things a day without thinking about it. Keep doing it until your gender presentation becomes just another thing you put on in the morning, as you transition from a sleeping lump to a functional human being. Keep doing it until your gender presentation is just a part of your presentation, and you barely notice it anymore.

ReplyDeleteIt bothers me that certain emotions, likes, or behaviors have a gender label associated with them, yet here we currently are. That being said, it's taken me a long time ignore the negativity and fully embrace the "feminine" aspects of my personality: being sensitive and sentimental, not feeling the need to hide my tears, enjoying musicals, wearing bright colors, etc. None of these actions make me less than, and being able to lean into my "real" self has brought me more authentic relationships.
