Boy In dress

  1. That picture captures a slice of life prior to the early 1900's. It was common for little boys to wear skirted clothing. Before age 5, I wore hand me downs from my older sisters and female cousins. This was considered normal for financial reasons back then. It was an explanation that back then, perfectly good clothes were not just thrown away but reused when ever possible within a family. I have pictures of me dressed in a blouse and girl's short when I was 4. I also remember wearing pastel colored panties before being switched over to boys briefs.
