Musical Interlude - Those Were The Days

To my wonderful friend in Tampa.  Lowell those were the days.

Once upon a time there was a tavern (BJ's)
Where we used to raise a glass or two
Remember how we laughed away the hours
And think of all the great things we would do
Those were the days my friend
We thought they'd never end
We'd sing and dance forever and a day
We'd live the life we choose
We'd fight and never lose
For we were young and sure to have our way

....I saw a strange reflection - Was that lonely woman really me?

The 1968 remake of an older Russian song sung by the first artist signed by The Beatles' Apple Records label by Welsh singer Mary Hopkin.

  1. God I so remember that song. It had a very special meaning to me especially the verse "We'd life the life we choose, we'd fight and never loose, we were young and surely have our way."
