I've been perfectly aware of those things you list in you Top Ten for years. Living in Seattle, the home of the Grunge look, however, I more often dress to blend in for everyday expression. While I still strive for femininity in my look, it is only occasionally that I wear a dress.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I had some appointments and errands to run, and I was thinking of wearing a dress for a change. After reading your post, I made up my mind to actually do it. It was a great day! Just before going home, I stopped by the grocery store, and a woman approached me from behind, saying, "I know you must hear this all the time, but I have to tell you that you have fantastic legs." I replied that I hadn't heard it in a long time, since I wear jeans almost every day, and then I thanked her. The last time I had worn a dress and heels, it was in the same store that a man stopped in front of me to tell me I was a "monumental woman." I'm still trying to figure out what he meant by that, but I choose to believe it was a compliment.
