Where The Danger Lies

Republican politicians have been arrested for misconduct in bathrooms but trans people have not

According to The Hill Reporter:

February 24, 2017

Republicans have long stuck to the claim that transgendered people would use the rule to enter public bathrooms and molest children of the opposite sex. It was that fearmongering that led to the now widely criticized “bathroom laws.”

As it turns out Dan Avery of NewNowNext pointed out in late March that far more Republican lawmakers have been arrested for lewd conduct in bathrooms than trans people.

For those of you keeping count at home.

Republicans – 3

Trans People – 0

Here is the Republican Hall of "Shame" on you:

Hinson, a Mississippi congressman, was arrested in 1981 after he was caught having oral sex with a government worker in a public bathroom. It wasn’t his first time being caught, in 1976 he was arrested for exposing himself to an undercover agent

Hinson eventually came out as an LGBT activist. He passed away from AIDS in 1995.

Craig, an Idaho Republican senator, was arrested following an incident in a Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport bathroom in 2007. An undercover officer said he attempted to solicit him in a sexual transaction between bathroom stalls.

Craig denied his attempt to solicit sex in a public bathroom and plead guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct. He later tried to withdraw his plea and ended up not running for another term in 2008

Florida state Representative Bob Allen was arrested for allegedly agreeing to pay $20 to perform a sex act an undercover cop in a public park.  African American men hanging around.

After resigning from office this winner said he was only in the bathroom to high from a “scary” group of African American men who were hanging out nearby.

Avery brought up a good point following this strange case. “It just goes to show that for Republican politicians, it’s better to be thought of as a racist than as wanting to suck another man’s d*ck.”

  1. KA POW! You go Rhonda!
Your last photo in your blog 'says it all'.
It is indeed all about POWER. POWER brought forth by the rich to preserve their WEALTH and POWER.
For the minimally educated, google 'Machiavelli'--"The power and the prince". If you did not read Machiavelli in high school... blame your state school board....
In a similar vein, the whole 'MORALITY' idea is brought forth by the RICH and POWERFUL as a tool to control the laboring 'lower classes'.
Murder? Abortion? Alcohol/Drugs? WHOREMONGERING? --NO PROBLEM if you are WEALTHY. Just have your team of lawyers to buy/threaten/silence any witnesses to your malfeasance.
It is said that the top 2% of the population owns 90% of the wealth and real property. AND they aim to keep it that way!
The problem is that those '2 percenters' are not a political majority, so they have to construct a false plurality to maintain their power.
The psychological trick is to induce the middle and underclass to think they are part of the '2%-ers', as well as to 'NAME A THREATENING BOGEYMAN", which the poorly educated can 'rally against' in order to 'protect ourselves'.

NOW, just because your 401K account has a high '6 or 7' digits dont think for a minute that you are 'of the upper class'. YOU and your spouse are just one CANCER DIAGNOSIS away from chronic poverty.
Nowdays, MILLIONS of $$$ is just CHUMP CHANGE, to the really wealthy.
If your MILLION in your 401K were converted to 'less-inflated' 1960's dollars, it would be valued at about a somewhat boring $25,000 .
Yet, I will bet there are plenty of readers of this blog that 'vote conservative' as they falsely believe they have 'something to conserve'.
As a friend remarked: "I am not RICH or WHITE enough to be a conservative. (I estimate his worth @ 20mil.) I am in agreement.
If you are under the delusion you are so much as 'middle class', do remember the 'middle class' starts at about $67,500 for a family of four. and that translates to about an hourly wage of $17.00/hour for BOTH SPOUSES working a 40 hour week. FYI I made an hourly wage of $18.00 in 1982....when that money bought at least two times what it buys today.
The next election cycle could bring about a need for "A NEW BOGEYMAN", and the ultra-rich and their hired psychologists and data analysts could simply, choose to pick...

Oh, BTW, anyone out there watch the 'Hacking Your MIND' (series) last night on PBS? The series totally plays into todays RHONDA. https://www.pbs.org/show/hacking-your-mind/
