True Blue Fashion Advice

My fashion friend and fellow blogger Susan Street at Susan after 60 had a wonderful post a few weeks back on true blue. She described it this way:

If a color can be your trademark, mine is blue. From turquoise to cobalt to navy and all the other cool versions, blue is the color I always feel most happy and confident wearing.

What a Fashion Inspiration she is!
We all need to look for our color comfort sweet spot. When my hair was dark and especially when I wore an auburn wig, blue was not my favorite. Now it is. I guess you could say I have grown into it.

I found the above Lauren Cotton-Blend Sweater (Deep Blue) online. I ordered when it went on sale last week at $40 off it's $89 regular price, plus another 40% off.  Very reasonable for a high-quality wear-year-round item. It is described as being boatneck  and "enhanced with lace-up accents along the sleeves" - cute and feminine.

Matching it with most any item will be easy and especially with white or black. Shown above is my Talbots Embroidered  Scallop Jean Skirt. It also was below half price and another percent off. It is mostly sold out online, however you may find it at a Talbots store, where I got mine. I love white denim skirts and jeans.

To really dress this outfit up, I have my years-old Guess pumps that perfectly match the sweater. This is a perfect color item to dress up with heels or be comfortable and casual with flats or sandals. It also looks great with black pants and black heels as Susan models here. A dressy evening outfit.

Susan also gives some great advice on dramatic accessories to pair with "True Blue".  Be sure to read.

  1. Without a doubt, BLUE is YOU
