Transgender Day of Remembrance 2022 (updated)

I am stunned on this TDOR ‘22, that we are faced with another attack on our LGBTQ+ community. This is yet another skirmish in the cold war of hate that is being encourage by the right-wing. There are those that will say, “They got what they had coming”. And yet again do nothing to address the hate that is so prevalent and legitimized. When you make guns of war easily available to those that hate, do nothing to foster understanding and love, you “reap what you sow”.

Please no thought and prayers today. Outrage and action is what is needed.

“Transgender Day of Remembrance seeks to highlight the losses we face due to anti-transgender bigotry and violence. I am no stranger to the need to fight for our rights, and the right to simply exist is first and foremost. With so many seeking to erase transgender people — sometimes in the most brutal ways possible — it is vitally important that those we lose are remembered, and that we continue to fight for justice.”
