Help Me Rhonda

62 Rare Historical Photos

Pictured here are The Beach Boys in 1965. The Beach Boys became wildly popular because their California surf-inspired sound was so unique. Surf-rock had yet to emerge and the Beach boys quickly became the most influential American band of the sixties. With over eighty songs topping charts worldwide, they remain one of the most critically acclaimed, commercially successful, and widely influential bands of all time.

I always smile because of my song. Today is a self indulgence music interlude. Enjoy.

  1. Sadly, my song is from a less-acclaimed surf music group, Jan and Dean. I am, of course, referring to "The Little Old Lady from Pasadena." Well, I'm not from Pasadena, and I'm not really very little, but I'll settle for the old lady part. :-)

  2. It's a shame you don't hear much from them anymore....

  3. We have seen the Beach Boys perform many times including this summer when the group, headed by Mike Love with Bruce Johnston came to the Jersey Shore. Yesterday Mike Love was at the White House for the signing of the bill protecting musicians rights. I guess his attendance was overshadowed by the coverage of Kanye.
