They Call Me Mello Yellow

I have always been drawn to yellow. It likely worked much better when I was younger and had red hair. From what I was taught as a beauty consultant, few have the proper skin tone to use yellow as a primary fashion color. Natural blonds being that exception. I really do love it as an accent color and pair it with grays and white which work well with my white hair - age appropriate.  Age has not diminished my love for yellow. I now use it as an accent to brighten what would otherwise be a dull outfit.

This layout is built around a Boston Proper  square neck t-shirt.  They are sexy, come in many colors and are available year round.  I have it in navy blue, white and the above gray. They always fit nice and run true to size.  (I wear a medium). The pants are Banana Republic, hemmed for heels and the white denim skirt is Levi. The purse is Ralph Lauren from several season ago.  The heels are Banana Republic Madison Pumps and the ballet flats are Talbots.

With just a little planning it is easy to look all pulled together. This packed combination could be a "day-to-evening and two day travel outfit"; dressy for evening - casual for day.

  1. I never could understand that song, but I never was high when I listened to it. I think one would have to be, and I'm pretty sure he was when he wrote it. It's still a pretty catchy pop tune, though.

I was a little sad when I had to put my yellow summer dress into storage the other day. I never had a chance to wear it this year. I was a natural blonde, and now I'm an unnatural one. Red works for me, too, but orange is a no-no. I don't know why, since it's just a mixture of the two.
