The Nylons
I bet you were thinking about the other kind of nylons. This is the singing group that go back to 1978. Few groups have such a long and honored career. According to Wikipedia:
The Nylons are an a cappella group founded in 1978 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, best known for their covers of pop songs such as The Turtles' "Happy Together", Steam's "Na Na Hey Hey Kiss Him Goodbye", and "The Lion Sleeps Tonight"
While in Canada a few weeks back, I had the honor of attending a super, wonderful, lovely, magic evening of dinner, music and entertainment. Thank you Ron! Saturday evening after dinner we attended a packed Burlington Performing Arts Center for what was billed as "The Nylons Farewell Tour". I hope someday you get to hear them live. An astonishing music experience.
And yes, I did get a personally signed "Greatest Hits" CD (above) and had a great conversation with a really down to earth group of entertainers. I was the last one in line to get my CD signed and we just talked for a while. They had played in Palm Beach a few years back and we both knew the orchestra leader that had put together their performance. I could kick my self for not requesting a quick a cappella "Help Me Rhonda". I bet they would have done it. On well - next time.
