I am tempted by the well-placed Pinterest ads for just what you cannot live without.  Months ago I was burned getting a pair of sneakers from China that were cute but of inferior quality. Thus I have become cautious. It is not that I have given up on direct sales/imports from China products, however, I study the pricing and shipping carefully. If I do succumb to the temptation, then for safety (credit card), I use PayPal knowing there is some delivery backup as well. 

Two recent purchases:

One was a bra. It had an additional adjustable, front one-inch band the came under the cup thus providing lift.  How could this not work?  And, when I purchased one I got a second at half price!  How could I go wrong?  It was terrible. The quality was awful, the cup too small, and the under cup band flapped around not tightening up even with three rows of adjustable hooks. The package came with no return address, receipt, and certainly no return label. Dud. It is now on AMAZON so wish I had waited.  FYI - it has a 47% one star rating on Amazon.  

My other purchase was the above "Lace-up-Flats-Heel-Sheakers"; three contradictions on one description. They are basic "Converse" looking sneakers with a platform. Platform sneakers are all the rage now among teen girls.  I think they look cute with jeans. 

They were a perfect fit with no points of rubbing and they do flex.  Several platform sneakers I have purchased previously are like walking on 2x6 boards attached to your feet with duct-tape; no flax at all.  Thus very quickly rub up a blister on your heel as it slides up and down as you walk.

These are great, have a little extra width, height and the lace-up part works with my high instep.  Just add denim.

So one out of three direct/sales/import China products one worked. The only negative to the sneakers is the delivery time. It took nearly four weeks. When I finally was able to decode the tracking number, I could see that my shoes traveled to more US cities than I have in the last 24 months. This after entering US air space.  

Bottom line - they are cute and provide a slight feminine differential. Being the sucker I am for cute shoes, I have ordered a second pair. Maybe a third in pink?
